Mansour (6-0, 2 KOs) dominated his Mexican opponent Marc Antonio Juarez (12-9-3, 5 KOs) in a six-round lightweight bout, earning a unanimous decision with a flawless 60-54 scorecard. The San Diego native dedicated the emotional victory to his late mother, who passed away earlier this year after a battle with cancer.
Earlier this year, Mansour visited his ancestral village of Alqosh in the Nineveh Plain. Speaking to Chaldean News, he described the experience as “amazing,” noting that life in Assyria is “a lot different from where I grew up.” During the trip, Mansour also visited the Assyrian towns of Tel Keppe, Tesqopa, and Batnaya.

An eight-time national champion, Golden Gloves winner, and international gold medalist with Team USA, Mansour has also expressed his intention to represent Iraq at the 2028 Summer Olympics. When asked what incentives were offered to him, he remarked humorously: “Offer? No, they promised a statue in Baghdad and a million dollars if I bring them a medal in the 2028 Olympics.”
Earlier on the card, 22-year-old Julius Ballo (2-0) faced Nicaraguan fighter Juan Cento (10-25-4, 2 KOs), defeating his last-minute replacement opponent by unanimous decision after winning every round for a 60-53 scorecard. Ballo, a rising prospect, is signed with Top Rank, one of the world’s leading boxing promotions founded by legendary promoter Bob Arum.
The future looks bright for the two undefeated cousins, both natives of Alqosh in the Nineveh Plain, as they continue to build momentum in their professional careers. Their shared success adds to the growing list of Assyrian achievements in boxing worldwide, complementing recent world-title success by Assyrian-Australian boxer Alex Naman.
