The Assyria Post aims to be the venue for serious debate about all things Assyrian.

We welcome debate articles with ideas or new perspectives. When we publish a text, it does not mean that we agree with the writer; it means that we consider the article to be of potential interest to an engaged public. The goal is to create a broad forum where opinions from different sides can be heard.

How the text should be written:

  • The argumentation should be well-founded, and the text should be concrete in its reasoning. It should have a clear conclusion or call to action.
  • The text must be written exclusively for The Assyria Post and must not have been published previously.
  • The maximum text length is 4,500 characters including spaces.
  • Please also include suggestions for relevant links that can be added to the text.

How we select texts:

  • We choose texts based on news value. When reading a text, we ask ourselves: Does the text contain news, a new idea, or does it correct a prevailing misconception?
  • It can be an advantage if the text connects to the current agenda, but it is even better if it has the potential to set the agenda.
