Assyrian shot dead in gang-related attack in Sydney
Sydney gang shooting leaves one Assyrian dead and another injured.
Gilbert Shino (39) was shot dead outside a Sydney pub on Sunday, 17 August, according to Australian media reports.
Shino had been in the company of a known gang member, also of Assyrian origin, who is believed to have been the intended target of the attack. The gang member, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds, survived and remains in stable condition, media sources said.

Shino, a father of two, is reported to have had no criminal background.
