Assyrian-American arrested in West Bloomfield shooting incident that left one Assyrian in critical condition
A man of Assyrian descent has been taken into custody following a shooting incident on Saturday morning at an apartment complex in West Bloomfield, Michigan, according to a report by Fox 2 Detroit.
Police were called to the scene Saturday morning after reports of gunfire in the area of Maple and Farmington Roads. Upon arrival, officers located evidence of shots being fired and detained the suspect without further incident.
The individual allegedly shot at least one other person, who is also reported to be of Assyrian origin. Both the shooter and the victim are reported to have known each other. The victim’s condition has not been publicly detailed, and authorities continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the incident.
Law enforcement has not yet released the identities of those involved, citing the ongoing investigation.
