Editorial policy
Mission
The Assyria Post is an independent news platform dedicated to providing accurate, balanced, and timely coverage of issues affecting Assyrians in the Middle East and around the world. Our mission is to inform, connect, and empower the global Assyrian community by reporting on political, cultural, human rights, and diaspora developments with integrity and depth.
Editorial Independence
We maintain full editorial independence from political parties, religious institutions, and advocacy organizations. Editorial decisions are made solely by The Assyria Post’s editorial team and are guided by journalistic ethics, not by external influence or funding considerations.
Accuracy and Verification
We are committed to factual accuracy. All published material undergoes verification through multiple credible sources wherever possible. When we make mistakes, we correct them transparently and promptly, noting the update in the article.
Fairness and Impartiality
Our reporting strives to represent diverse perspectives within the Assyrian community and beyond. We aim to give all relevant parties the opportunity to respond before publication on matters of dispute or controversy.
Transparency and Sources
We protect confidential sources when necessary, following established journalistic standards. However, we avoid anonymous sourcing unless it is essential to the story and information cannot be obtained otherwise. Whenever possible, we identify sources and provide context for their perspectives.
Editorial and Opinion Content
The Assyria Post distinguishes between news (reported and verified facts) and opinion (commentary and analysis). Opinion pieces reflect the views of their authors and not necessarily those of the editorial board. All opinion contributors are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
Corrections and Clarifications
If readers identify factual inaccuracies, we encourage them to contact our editors at news@assyriapost.com. Corrections and clarifications are published openly and appended to the original article when necessary.
Ethics and Responsibility
We adhere to internationally recognized journalistic codes of conduct, including those of the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) and Reporters Without Borders (RSF).
Use of AI and Automation
We may use AI-assisted tools for research, transcription, or editing, but all editorial decisions, final writing, and fact-checking are carried out by human editors. No article is published without human oversight.
Reader Engagement
We welcome feedback, corrections, and contributions from readers. Constructive engagement is central to our mission of transparency and accountability.
