# Enheduanna: the forgotten woman writer

"More than 4,000 years ago in the ancient city of Ur, present day southern Iraq, a woman named Enheduanna pressed her name into wet clay and put her stamp on her own work. She wrote hymns of incredible personal and political depth, described her own exile and humiliation, called on the goddess Inanna to restore her and left a postscript that reads: *The compiler of this tablet is Enheduanna.* Something noone had ever seen before."
